Special Days

There's certainly been a lot going on around here, some days it feels like I haven't sat down! Anyway, since returning from our holiday (which seems oh so long a go) we celebrated easter and the boys did two more egg hunts, one here in the garden and another at a nearby National Trust property, Kingston Lacey.

Solving the clues...

...and finding the eggs (my boys are super competitive)

NT Kingston Lacey, a much calmer egg hunt...

Friday 29th April we celebrated the Royal Wedding and watched the ceremony on TV at my parents house. I made the red, white and blue bunting the day before and Callum made the Union Jack flag (hanging from the light fitting) at school.

Dad hung a couple of his Union Jack flags up too...

and we watched together, with a cuppa and a cake (not for the twins, they had milk!).

...and afterwards we had a barbeque and some pavlova (which although patriotic was not as good as my mother-in-laws, I need lots more practise until I'm her standard!)

Early in May the boys had 'potted sports day' at school. The whole school is divided into twenty groups and they complete 20 games to earn points. Siblings are in the same team, the boys team is Hedgehogs. Callum managed to split his lip from shouting "Hedgehogs, hedgehogs!" so loud ...

Amazingly he still had a voice after a whole morning of shouting!

Later that same day the boys both had football. They are both playing football outside at their clubs and Callum has joined the wednesday group too, going to the club before Matthew's. So that's two hours on football back to back on wednesdays from now on - eek! Callum however was very pleased as he won the medal at his first meeting.

Matthew had his own goal - to finish reading the Harry Potter book series before his 8th birthday, which he did with one day to spare. AMAZING - I am so very proud of him!

I'm going to save Matthew's birthday for the next post, I think he deserves a 'special day' post just to himself!

Oh, but before I go here's a recent scrapbook layout about one moment of our holiday in Northern Ireland.
