Legoland, Lightyear and Lightning!
Monday, 21 July 2008
We had planned a trip to Legoland with our friends and their kids for a while. But as our luck would have it Matthew woke up and was sick several times in the early hours before we were due to go. Well, needless to say that meant we had to cancel our trip, much to everyones disappointment including Matthew. So last Tuesday we decided we'd take Matthew out of school and go before the school summer holidays start over here (which is this wednesday). Don't worry we got permission from the school!
What a great idea that was, the queues for the rides weren't long, infact sometimes non-existent and the weather was lovely. Last time we went Matthew was very hesitant about going on the rides, this time however he went on a fast water ride with Jeff and LOVED it! After that he went on rollercoasters and even more water rides, which he had been adamant he wouldn't go on!
After Legoland we went to my friends Sara's house for tea (who we were supposed to meet up with on the previous Saturday at Legoland). The kids had a lovely time playing together and we had a good time catching up, thanks Sara.
My youngest son Callum will be three on Thursday and Saturday we had a little family celebration for him. I baked a chocolate cake and decorated it with mini smarties and lots of chocolate buttercream. I saw and instantly fell in love with the blue cake stand you can see in the picture. It was in the sale in Laura Ashley and provided I don't break it, I can see it being used for years and years to come.
The boys loved blowing out the candles, we re-lit them many times!
Callum got some great presents, including a Buzz Lightyear costume - so cute!
AND I think (no, I know) that there will be more of these little guys making an appearance over the next few days! Current car count = 11.
Jeff thinks I love these little cars just as much as the boys and he's right! Matthew loves the racing cars, especially 'The King', 'Chick Hicks' and of course 'Lightning McQueen'. He spends lots of time playing out race scenes from the film. Callum loves 'Lightning McQueen' and 'Sally' and really wants 'Mack' - he's going to be one happy kid on Thursday!
I've managed to find some time to do some scrapping, here's a couple of pages I've made of the boys. The photos are from our last trip to Northern Ireland and are taken on the pier in Bangor. I scraplifted the first layout from one I'd seen in the recent issue of Simple Scrapbooks.
Have a good week!
