Sports Day, Graduation and a Birthday Party
A week in Northern Ireland

4!

Yep, my youngest son celebrated his 4th birthday on the 24th July, Happy Birthday little man! Mind you this was 2 weeks ago, as you know by now I'm not a very frequent blogger these days, hence this announcement is late.

He and his older brother are mad about Lego, and in particular the Power Miners range. For ages Callum had been saying he really wanted the Crystal Sweeper, a very large kit for kids over 8 and the Thunder Driller a slightly smaller kit but still for kids older than he is. For weeks he and Matthew had been breaking down their other Power Miners trying to make the Crystal Sweeper and the Thunder Driller. We knew this was not going to be a passing phase and money wasted. So the little man had this surprise on his birthday; the Crystal Sweeper and boy was he delighted!

We also gave him a scooter which on opening Matthew said he'd like one of those too. We anticipated this... "Hmm, go have a look in the cupboard under the stairs Matthew!". I had got a great deal through Argos, 2 for £15. And as Callum had a parcel to collect from the Post Office depot, a 10 minute walk away, it was the perfect excuse to try out the new scooters!

That evening he got to blow out the candles on another birthday cake (chocolate cake from Waitrose, decorated with smarties by me).

The following day we travelled to Northern Ireland for a weeks holiday. Callum received more birthday presents from family and friends over there, including the much wanted Thunder Driller from Grandma and Grandad Boland!
