Week in the Life - Monday

He is Six

Callum 6 blog

Yesterday Callum turned SIX. Can you guess the theme of the day? He dressed himself up as Harry Potter at about 7am and changed his outfits throughout the day between 'student' Harry Potter and 'Quidditch player' Harry Potter.

We gave him the Lego Hogwarts Express (and some track) he had been asking for this and was really pleased to get it. Matthew was very pleased too!

I made him a Quidditch cake, as per his request. It looked great and was super easy to make because I just stuck on the Lego Quidditch pieces.

In the evening we had a Quidditch match with coloured capes, two for each house in Hogwarts; Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw and cardboard tube broomsticks. The boys decided on the adapted rules to suit us non-flying muggles - we had to shoot the red quaffle (football) into the goal to score 10 points and at the end the team who caught the golden snitch (ping pong ball) won the match with an extra 150 points. Everyone joined in including all the Grandparents, unfortunately Jeff had to miss out on the fun because he had to work. So grateful for young hearted family who didn't mind dressing up and messing around on broomsticks to make a little boy very happy.

Gryffindor (Red - Callum and Grandma Boland) Vs Slytherin (Green - Auntie Janet and Uncle Rich) and Grandma Broomfield in goal, Matthew as ref making sure the rules were being followed. Gryffindor win!

Can you spot Hagrid's Hut with his pumpkins growing outside?

End of Tournament photo!

As you are well aware I love to be creative and the little details matter to me. Like these...

I made invitation letters for everyone and for Callum I copied Harry Potter's Hogwarts acceptance letter.

Complete with Hogwarts crest, wax seal (7gypsies) and emerald green ink.

I printed the Hogwarts crest onto transfer paper and made a banner.

Plus everyone received a party bag with sweets including Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, Magic Stars and lollipops.

AND at the end of a very busy day, where do little Harry Potters sleep? Well in the cupboard under the stairs of course! (this was Callum's idea, I promise I didn't make him do it).

Good night!
