I never thought at the beginning of the holiday I would be wishing for more time home with the boys but I am. This summer holiday has flown by, probably due to having two weeks away at either end of the holiday. So here I am in the house alone, in silence apart from the tapping of my fingers on... Doesn't look very much like August does it? Fortunately it was milder than it looks and the boys really didn't seem to mind, they were happy to dig in the sand with their friends. I was happy to sit and watch them and chat to my friend Jo. {I should probably clarify that I have several friends called Jo, that... Read more →
Tonight I am feeling content. I took my sewing machine over to my parents house today and made a camouflage interior for the treehouse. It's got camouflage panels on the two sides and black netting on the back and front. Callum now wants me to make him a camouflage costume "like the ones they wear in the battle of Endor"... WINDSCREENS - the saga of my Beetles dodgy windscreen wipers, a new wiper motor and an unexpected cracked windscreen (the windscreen has now been replaced by the garage under their insurance). WET DAY - We were supposed to go to the beach with friends on Tusday, but it rained and as my car was still away at the garage we... Read more →

Today he will get lots of presents and hopefully be really pleased with what we've bought him (we didn't get him the Wii game - Super Mario Galazy 2 he'd asked for - he wanted it for Matthew!). Today he... Read more →
Last week we decided it was time for a change in our kitchen. Gone are the peachy walls and old silver clock and here are beautiful green walls and retro 50's clock. OK I know the walls don't look very green in the photo above - what's with that? But look below... I also painted one wall in the utility... Read more →
The first school my sons go to put on a production every year and all the children (all 300) take part. This year they put on 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'. I had offered to help with any sewing that needed doing and was given fabric to make sashs for Matthew's year group. I made 17 sashs in lilac... Read more →
Here we've been growing our own. Just a few things in pots like strawberries, tomatoes, basil, runner beans, broad beans and cucumber. So far we've only eaten the strawberries and basil, but there are loads of tomatoes growing and lots of flowers on the runner beans. Callum is really keen to have home grown cucumbers, his absolute favourite vegetable. We'll... Read more →
